Hello to all!

Brand new member to the GCA Forum... and have read many of Ryk E. Spoors' novels and thoroughly enjoy all of them!

My BIGGEST question is this... After reading and loving the Balanced Sword Series, I was wondering if the stories of Xavier and the Five have already been written? OR.... Are we yet to see their stories in print?  I've dome some searching and all I have found is that Paradigms Lost is somehow related to the universe or Zarathan, but I would LOVE to read the story of Xavier and the Five... is it OUT THERE? and if so ..... WHERE?????

Anyway... love your work RES.... and look forward to more in the future 😀

As you can see the traffic in the Forum's so low that sometimes I miss someone posting. Hope you see this response!

I have started writing _The Spirit Warriors_, which is the title of the trilogy for Xavier and friends; tentative titles are Choosing the Players, Move and Countermove, and Master of the Game

You can find part of Xavier's story itself (basically part of the first book of the trilogy) as a free story "Training and Truth".

Hopefully Baen will decide to take the trilogy. If not I may have to do it myself.

Any info you can share about this spinoff series?  I really enjoyed the Balanced Sword series.  I would like to know more about what Xavier and friends did in the Black City.  Not to mention what happens after the return to Silverrun?  Was the attack of the Black City enough to qualify as a Chaoswar?  I didn't think it was enough but then again I am not the author.

Well, The Spirit Warriors follows Xavier and his four friends from the time they're taken from Earth (actually a bit before, and quite a bit before in Xavier's case, as you can see in the excerpt that Baen put up on their site as "Training and Truth") until, eventually, they manage to break the Great Seal and return home. Naturally, there's a lot of adventures along the way -- we get some really broad and vague outlines of those events in Phoenix Ascendant.

As for what comes after the end of Phoenix Ascendant... well, I may have to self-publish that sometime. Much as these three books were very important to me, and I thought came out quite well overall, they haven't sold well, and sales are what you need to convince publishers to take sequels.

No, that was just the start of a Chaoswar. What our heroes -- both sets (and actually three sets, because there's a third set of heroes, several of which we also met in the Balanced Sword trilogy, who take care of other business) -- have done is to disrupt part of the Chaoswar and ultimately put an end to the Cycle. But they haven't stopped this Chaoswar entirely and there's still a lot of messiness to come.

Wait a sec 3 sets of heroes?  Kyri and Tobis (spelling I know). Xavier and friends.  But who is the third set?  Unless you are talking about Khronous and the guy who trains Xavier.

No, Khoros and Xavier's Master are like the big NPCs that do important stuff but aren't central to your plot.

The other group of heroes centers on Urelle Vantage, Ingram Camp-Bel, and Victoria Vantage.

Well, the title of the trilogy they're the center of is "Godswar".

It takes place in Aegeia, which is mentioned several times in the trilogy as the place where the Goddess of Wisdom is supposedly incarnate, and it's inaccessible at the end of the trilogy which is why Kyri still doesn't know exactly what happened there. But I have to do the Spirit Warriors trilogy first.

even confined to just Aegeia there are still several scenarios that I can come up with.  I will be speculating wildly until you get to them.  Hmmmm lets see here........

Well, given that Aegeia is obviously a reference (along with the incarnate Athena) to Greece, and that one of my big inspirations is Saint Seiya...

I figured the Greece and Athena angles but not the saint seiya.  I haven't seen it though I have heard of it.  Hmmmm I may have to do some research here. Let's see....

I don't care if you just have to publish the Spirit Warriors series as a blog, I'd absolutely love to read it.  The "Training and Truth" excerpt was the first thing of your's I'd read, and I then marathoned "Digital Knight" and the Balanced Sword Trilogy.

Thanks!

I do intend to finish the Spirit Warriors eventually -- I kinda HAVE to if I'm going to get to the Grand Finale. If you read Digital Knight you may want to read _Paradigms Lost_, which is Digital Knight greatly expanded and overall improved (there's about 60,000 additional words in Paradigms Lost which includes two more Jason stories, and a lot of additional material including some featuring Xavier).

Next year the first volume of _Demons of the Past_ will be published, which is set in the deep past of that same universe (about 18,000 years after the Fall of Atlantaea).
